Nude Figure Sessions With South Arts Member John Pisarcik
Historic Schoolhouse, 2600 South Park Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102
Nude Figure drawing sessions with a nude model will start being held in John's
Second Floor Studio Every Wednesday Evening. Sessions continue through out the year.
 $10.00 Donation, pay as you go at the sessions. 7 to 9 p.m.
These are open sessions with no instruction. Work in any medium you choose.

Painting Connections with Nancy Deckant
Beginning and intermediate watercolor painters will grow
their skills in watercolor. Passages of similar values can
connect a subjects parts into a unified whole. Hard edges
evoke a specific emotional response from the viewer. Softened
edges link shapes and promote a different emotional
response. Students will learn to bring more feeling to their
paintings through painting connections of similar value.

Animal Drawings With George Nichol
This course covers basic drawing techniques for all animals,
including the art of shading and finishing details for each
animal, such as fur, hair, feathers, hide. Bring photographs
if you want to draw a particular animal, but references will
be available. You will need a sketch pad, medium, soft and
hard pencils, and a set of colored pencils, if desired, and a
soft eraser. Wednesdays, October 19, 26, November 2, 9,
16. 1:00-3:00 p.m., $40.00 members, $45.00 non-members.

Pastels With Carol Donnelly
Pastels are an exciting medium, easy to use to achieve luminous
colors. Learn different methods of applying pastels,
ways to rework pastels, as well as wetting techniques. See
the results of different grounds and textures. This class
is for all levels of experience. Materials list will be provided
upon registration. Tuesdays, September 20, 27, October

Drawing A Likeness With John Hinderliter
Come join this award winning illustrator and fine artist
in exploring ways to capture a likeness in your drawings.
There are specific things to learn that will help you get
better results in your portraits. Drawing materials are up
to each artist, but suggestions include a variety of pencils
and a selection of drawing papers including toned and colored
papers. Photographs will be available to study. Tuesdays,

Acrylics Or Mixed Media With Silvia Mcgavin
In this relaxed class, using brush and knife, we will review
techniques, composition, abstract concepts, and work to
develop your personal style. All levels of experience are
welcome and you will be encouraged to use your imagination.

Introduction To Digital Photography With Kailyn Trainer
Learn the basics of digital photography. Familiarize yourself
with your camera, learn the settings, techniques and
skills to produce outstanding photos. Work towards a
project and present your final project to the class. Necessary
equipment list available on registration. Wednesdays,
October 5, 12. 19. 26 and November 2, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Learn how to pre-mix colors to get a head start
on painting outdoors.
Learn principles of Light and Shadow families.
Simplify nature into easy shapes
Painting from the general to the specific.
(staying away from detail until the time is
right) , break for lunch
Learn the mechanics of an outdoor palette.

Oil Painting With Chuck Percherke
Complete a painting in each class using a different concept.
Painting materials and boards will be provided but bring
your own brushes. Photographs or reference materials
will be available or you may bring your own. Limited to 10
students. Saturdays, November 5, 19,26 and December 3.

Silk Painting with Lynn Angelelli
Students will learn the basics of silk painting and complete
a 22” square silk scarf of their own design. The fee covers
the silk scarf, palettes, dyes and the steaming to set the
dyes. Thursdays November 10 and November 17, 9:30 a.m.
-1:00 p.m., $50.00 members, $55.00 non-members.

Workshop: Emotional Qualities Of Color With Donna Kearns
Leave your color wheels at home! All colors carry emotional
characteristics, and you can use these to draw your
viewers into your world. This is a hands-on workshop to
expand and strengthen your color choices and vocabulary to
more confidently express your ideas. We’ll have some fun
with color and words. No special skills required. Saturday,
November 12, 10:30 - 2:30, 1/2 hour lunch break, bring
brown bag, beverages available. $35.00 members, $40.00

“Friday Painters”
Our group meets on Fridays to work on our current paintings.
We will go outside if possible or, if the weather is bad, we will work at the Schoolhouse in Bethel Park.
When the weather is “iffy,”call Mary Stuart at 412-941-3081
to see what the group is doing. Outside, meet at 10:00; Inside,
12:00 to 4:00. No fee.
